Concept/Development Art

Lizard/iguana thing that lives as a thief and travels the world. She lives on an island.

A young knight who lost his right arm and his sidekick dragon with no legs. Inspired by my broken right arm.
A cranky old man with an assault rifle that protects his house from juvenile delinquents. Him and the dog used to be world famous hunters back in the day.
Cute star witch girl who rides a star fish/dolphin thing. They float around space and the girl draws things with stars using her star wand.
Deer spirit guides a lost soul through purgatory. But is it a good or bad spirit? Well its cute so that obviously means its good right?

  1. To be honest, I thought all of your ideas in concept art were strong and compelling. My favorite though would have to be your first three. Not saying that all of them were bad, though I feel that the first three could operate in the 60 - 90 seconds spectrum to tell your story.

My only critique is for your 2nd idea, I do agree with Chuck that it kinda echoes "How to Train Your Dragon," however I think it was just bad timing. I don't believe you were trying to copy it, no, no, just overall that Dreamworks film is going to be fresher in people's minds.

As for your old man defending his lawn, are you going to be more cartoony or realistic in the direction that you take it, since, y'know, he's defending his lawn from children with his gun.

Anyway, great work! Can't wait to see how you develop your ideas/characters. :-)
